October 25.10.2011 - Antik Technology, provider of IPTV solutions, announces new feature of the Juice line of IPTV set-top boxes - HTTP Live Streaming standard (HLS). The technological innovation is part of comprehensive IPTV solution called Juice Media Server Family for HTTP Live Streaming based on streaming server platform made by Antik that supports OTT full adaptive streaming and multi-screen video.

HTTP Live Streaming lets distribute stream live video and audio over HTTP using public internet to the computers or TV. "Our developers created set-top box that supports HTTP Live Streaming. HLS allows stream live and on demand video through internet also in less stable networks because of its protocol type and STB buffer. We offer end-to-end solution for companies that provide over-the-top content delivery from now," said Igor Kolla, Antik Technology CEO.

HLS supports both live broadcasts and video on demand. It works by breaking the overall stream into a sequence of small HTTP-based file download. Each download loading one short 10-second chunk of an overall potentially unbounded transport stream. Set-top box Juice by Antik with HLS has a buffer that helps also in worse conditions - problems with slow and unstable network, broadband router, connection with computer etc. The buffer acts as temporary store to smooth out any variations in the video stream when the connection breaks down. HTTP Live Streaming is able of traversing any firewall or proxy server that lets through standard HTTP traffic unlike UDP-based protocols. Antik Technology implements the feature of HLS support to the all set-top boxes Juice – Basic, Mini, Pro, 3D Extreme and Hybrid. March 17, 2011 – Slovak IPTV device manufacturer Antik Technology prepares a new member of the Juice line of IPTV set‐top boxes‐‐the latest high‐end hybrid DVB/IP set‐top box based on the STi7108 System‐on‐Chip with integrated high‐performance host processor, dedicated 3D graphics, a hard‐disk interface for PVR capability and Ethernet and USB connections, allowing users to connect equipment such as DVR storage, external Flash or hard‐disk drives.

ANTIK Technology’s Juice 3D Extreme is a high‐end hybrid DVB/IP set‐top box using the capabilities of the new SoC. The STi7108 provides the STB with high processing power, smooth web experience, and gaming. 3D capabilities such as 3D TV experience, 3D Electronic Programme Guide user interface with 3D video content. The integrated SoC works with high energy efficiency due to the low power configurable architecture. STi7108 is using ARMMali‐400 graphics processor compatible with Khronos Open GL ES 2.0 to provide excellent 3D visual experience and for fast execution of Javabased STB middleware engines as well as Javascript and Flash Player components for on‐line VOD and other content delivered via the internet.

The integrated STi7108 is able to decode video in industry‐standard formats, including H.264, MVC, MPEG2, VC‐1 or WMV9 Internet video, as well as MPEG4, up to high‐definition resolution 1080p 50/60 simultaneously with 1080i/720p picture‐in‐picture or mosaic formats. July 27, 2010 – A recently announced Google's Android-based TV platform is a few months away from releasing. Google TV blends television with Internet capabilities and will be supported not only in the already announced Logitech Revue. Antik Technology plans to bring the features of Google TV to the owners of its Juice set-top boxes.

Google TV is designed to work with any TV operator and will enable the owners of the Juice set-top boxes to interact with web content and TV together seamlessly. "We want to bring the Android platform into our set-top boxes soon, and Google TV should follow after that, which will give the users nearly-endless possibilities of rich entertainment experiences," said Igor Kolla, Antik Technology CEO and adds: "Google TV can further expand the current multimedia capabilities of our FullHD Juice set-top boxes, which serve as a home entertainment centre with DualTV support."

Android-powered Juice devices will run the Chrome web browser, allowing users access to the web along with a wide range of rich entertainment content options. The integration of the Google's mobile platform into set-top boxes will also allow the users to use their Android smartphones as a remote control.
